KW09 Drone Lemmings
KW09 Drone Lemmings
... and here is my top topic for the 8th week of 2024 artistically implemented. New every Sunday.
For months, terrorists from Yemen have been firing drone after drone and missile after missile at Israel and ships in the Red Sea. And this doesn't seem to want to stop.
For the first time, a German warship shot down drones there. A ship attacked by Houthi terrorists has sunk and an oil spill is spreading.
I implemented this theme in the form of a sunset on the sea. Drones (also representative of rockets) fly like “lemmings” on the horizon, are then shot down and crash - over and over again. Even the sun could be seen as a bomb and the reflection in the sea is red. Red is reminiscent of the Red Sea, but also of blood and looks like an explosion. The motion blur at the edge of the image also draws the eye to the red explosion in the center... towards doom.
I chose the more abstract form because the whole thing seems somehow unreal and distant to me. Nevertheless, we are involved. The colors used: black, red and orange/gold are reminiscent of the colors of the German flag. The structure of the picture also suggests an oil painting - no coincidence when depicting an oil spill.
This picture is part of my weekly ARTblog on Instagram , in which I discuss current topics from the past week that are close to my heart. I do not claim to have the “ultimate, correct opinion” but rather just present my view in artistic form.

Treatment & Care
Treatment & Care
The print is applied with high quality ink on high quality art paper. To ensure longevity, the image should be protected from direct sunlight.
It is recommended that you only touch the pictures with gloves.
Only pictures made of acrylic glass can be cleaned with a clean, damp cloth without pressure.
Never expose unprotected prints to water. This destroys the surface.
