KW15/2024 Turning point

... and here is my top topic for the 15th week of 2024 artistically implemented. New every Sunday.

I had actually already prepared a different topic for this week, but with Iran's attack on Israel last night, I believe we have reached a turning point in the Middle East conflict. The signs point to war. That is madness. But I am not giving up on my dream of a peaceful world.

Will the war plunge the region/the world into chaos? Or is there still hope? Will evil (war) destroy beauty (life, freedom, peace) or can the bad still be averted?

I expressed this conflict between reality and hope in the form of a flower against a dark background. The depth of field makes the whole thing appear like an explosion or a suction. The beige tone used is reminiscent of sand and thus of a desert region. The green color used is intended to create hope (like the flower as a whole).

I see 2 possible interpretations of the picture:

On the one hand, the beautiful/the good/the human in the form of the flower is overshadowed or possibly destroyed by the war.
On the other hand, there is hope that reason will prevail, that good will emerge from the chaos and that a full-scale war will not break out.

Only the future will show which interpretation of the picture will come into play at which time.

I just hope so much that the picture never has to be interpreted as a grave arrangement.
