KW16/2024 Ark
KW16/2024 Ark
... and here is my top topic for week 16 of 2024, artistically implemented. New every Sunday.
Do we need an ark? In any case, we had torrential floods in Dubai last week. But other countries such as Pakistan and Afghanistan also experienced massive flooding with many deaths. And we must not forget the ongoing flooding in Siberia.
I am convinced that self-inflicted global warming is the cause of these extremes. I still believe that humanity is still doing far too little to protect the climate. Instead, we prefer to wage wars...
I have expressed where this can lead in an image of a minimalist ark. There is no land to be seen in the image. However, the ship as an alternative is not designed to be inviting. Whether it is an alternative at all remains an open question, as there is no entrance to the ship. That is why the person indicated may not have boarded the ship yet - or can he still stop the storm?
It is also exciting to see whether the sun will set (long shadows) and the storm will continue to approach - or will the bright light give us hope...
In any case, the focus is on people (as the cause, as the sufferer and as a possible problem solver).
This picture is part of my weekly ARTblog on Instagram , in which I discuss current topics from the past week that are close to my heart. I make no claim to have the "ultimate, correct opinion" but simply present my view in artistic form.

Treatment & Care
Treatment & Care
The print is applied with high quality ink on high quality art paper. To ensure longevity, the image should be protected from direct sunlight.
It is recommended that you only touch the pictures with gloves.
Only pictures made of acrylic glass can be cleaned with a clean, damp cloth without pressure.
Never expose unprotected prints to water. This destroys the surface.
