The Loss of Identity series explores the gradual change, dissolution and fragmentation of identity over time. There is a clear temporal sequence: the first image, set in the past (hence “-1” in the title), shows the beginning of the transformation, where human elements are still visible and the change is just beginning. The present is reflected in the second image, which stands out with its light background and symbolizes the current state of identity dissolving into abstraction. The absence of eyes suggests the reluctance to face the present reality. The future is represented in the last two images, where the transformation continues subtly and quietly. In the third image, the eyes are closed, symbolizing how we turn away from what is inevitable, while the last image shows the almost complete digital fragmentation of identity.

An important aspect of this series is that the creator does not make a clear judgement about the transformation. The narrative remains open and leaves room for interpretation. The use of aesthetically beautiful images of women's faces overlaid with digital and surreal elements underscores the artistic intent. Despite the underlying theme of loss of identity, the images are intentionally stylized and visually appealing. This creates an interesting tension between the aesthetics of the images and the concept of gradual alienation in a digital world. It is left to the viewer to decide whether the transformation represents a loss or a natural evolution of identity.

1. (Loss of Identity -1):
The series begins with a profile view of a face with the eyes open. Thin, parallel lines run through the face, symbolizing the beginning of a transformation. There is a hint of human presence, as subtle color is visible around the eyes and mouth, giving the image a touch of vitality. These soft tones and skin suggest that the identity is still intact, but is being woven together with digital elements. This image represents a moment in the past where the transformation process has begun, but the human identity is still recognizable. The transformation is palpable, but not yet fully complete.

2. (Loss of Identity 0):
The second image furthers this dissolution of identity. It shows a close-up of the lower part of a face, with a black liquid appearing to drip from the lips and chin. Notably, no eyes are visible - perhaps a hint that we as viewers are part of the image and do not want to see what is happening. The light background contrasts sharply with the dark liquid, indicating that this is the present moment. Unlike the other images, the lighter background underscores the idea of progressive disintegration. Identity appears to be dissolving and dissolving into an abstract form, suggesting a loss of control over one's self.

3. (Loss of Identity 1):
In this image, the face is again seen in profile, but now scanned through geometric lines that give the impression of a digital scan. The eyes are closed, symbolizing how we close our eyes to what is coming. The transformation proceeds slowly and almost imperceptibly as the face is gradually engulfed by these digital fragments. The lines that cross the face reinforce the idea of inevitable change, while the closed eyes suggest an unconscious denial of that change. Showing a moment of the near future, this image reflects how the transformation quietly proceeds.

4. (Loss of Identity 2):
The final image in the series shows the profile of a face that is now almost enveloped in digital lines and geometric patterns. Although the human features are still visible, digital fragmentation has largely taken over. The transformation seems complete - the mechanical, digital elements dominate the face, leaving little of the original human form. Here too, the eyes are closed, reinforcing the impression that the transformation has been accepted or at least passively allowed. This image represents the future in which identity is either lost or completely absorbed into a digital form.

This image is part of a series. Each image can be purchased separately.
