The Summer Olympics in France are coming to an end today. On the one hand, we are celebrating our athletes and gold medals. A sporting event that is intended to contribute to peaceful international understanding.

On the other hand, there are fires burning in many places around the world - and it seems as though the trend is increasing.

For me, that was reason enough to capture this situation in a surreal image. A bright, blue competition swimming pool in a black and white concrete environment. But the pool is  Unfortunately, the Olympic spirit has not reached all parts of the world or has been pushed aside.

Instead, it is bloody serious. The walls of the swimming pool could be reminiscent of burial cities, as they are found in southern countries. The water in which the athletes swim is kept in a "friendly blue", the rest is dark, colorless - thus there is a high contrast between the games and the world. But even in this picture there are exits and entrances that are opposite each other and  could be used for communication. In addition, the sun is still shining, as an optimistic aspect - or is the sun setting?
